Definitely agree with not trying to force it on the cat. I bought something very similar for my two indoor cats. When I first got them all put together the two sisters wouldn't have anything to do with them no matter what I tried. I eventually gave up on them and wrote them off as yet another quirk of being a cat owner. Then one day I woke up to find them both lounging in their little homes. From that point on you could hardly ever get them out of the things. Cat's make up their own minds about new things and they have their own schedule about it. Just give it time and stop making a fuss over the new cathouse. Once it just becomes an everyday object she will explore it.

What about bones? We purchase ham bones at petco and our dog breaks off small peices that can become a choking hazard but its difficult to monitor unless we are always around. Any suggestions?

Greetings Margaret,

The first thing that comes to mind is the cat's experience. If she has had a bad experience with a similar type enclosure she may not venture near it. The first thing you have to do is, make sure that there is no doors or flaps that make the house look like a trap. IF she feels she may not be able to get out, she will not go in. What ever you do 'DO NOT RUSH HER'. Give her time to make up her mind. The nights are becoming colder, she will go in for the shelter it offers. Give her time.

We built a cedar cat house for an outdoor cat who lives on our porch. How can we accustom her to it? She won't enter the house! I have placed her food below the platform but I can't interest her in jumping up and exploring. I'm wondering if it's the cedar smell? I placed a catnip toy inside. Should I place her food inside?

I need a house for stray cats living in the wild that accomodates at least four cats. The large insulated cedar cat house with raised lounging deck is perfect but i need a plataform in the first floor to put the food and when it rains the food is protected. I will anchor the firt floor to the ground in four cement blocks to prevent the wind blow the house and also to prevent vandalism. Can you tell me how much can cost this and if is possible to do it accomodating four cats in one unit.
Provide me with cost and time for delivery.

We don't have a cat in our house.I think you need to send your cat outside so that it won't be able to climb your curtains, but if you don't want to do that then try to teach/train your cat not to climb your curtains.
Good luck to you.
